  • 1 cup Besan (Chickpea flour)
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • A handful of Chopped nuts (optional – almonds, pistachios)

  • 2 cup Water
Instructions
    For Sweetness
  1. Heat the ghee and Roast Besan
    • Heat a thick-bottomed pan on low-medium heat. and add Ghee in pan.
    • After heating the pan,Add besan and start roasting it with continuous stirring. Keep the heat low to avoid burning.
    • Roast until the besan turns golden brown and you can smell a nutty aroma. This process may take around 10-15 minutes.
  2. Preparing Sugar Syrup
    • In a separate saucepan, combine sugar and water.
    • Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely, forming a syrup. You don't need to make a thick syrup; a medium consistency is fine.
  3. Combining Besan and Sugar Syrup
    • Once the besan is roasted, add the hot sugar syrup to it. Be cautious as it may splutter.
    • Stir continuously to avoid lumps. The mixture will thicken quickly.
  4. Adding Cardamom Powder

    Add cardamom powder for flavor. Mix well.

  5. Garnishing

    Add chopped nuts and mix them into the halwa.

  6. Stirring

    Keep Stirring continuosly for 5 to 6 minutes on low heat.Stir well so that no lumps lefts.

    Break any lumps with the spatula and mixture can get browned from the bottom.

  7. Final Touch

    Continue to cook the halwa for a few more minutes until it reaches a consistency you desire.
